NASA launches the world’s first ever asteroid deflection mission. Its purpose is to learn more about asteroid deflection by impacting a satellite the size of a small car into an 160-meter asteroid. 🔗 Link
One of the brightest green glows in the animal kingdom radiates from the nests of the Asian paper wasp. The light derives from silk proteins, and with just a hand-held UV lamp the glow can be seen from 20 meters away. 🔗 Link
Bees may take generations to recover from one exposure to insecticides. A single exposure to insecticides in a bee’s 1st year of life affects offspring production, and since the effects of the pesticides are cumulative, this results in an overall decrease in the bee population 🔗 Link
